Cloud Infrastructure

Whether you need compute power, database storage, content delivery, or other capabilities, AWS provides the services to help you build demanding applications with increasing flexibility, scalability, and reliability

Middleware / Storage

Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) is an object storage service with industry-leading scalability, data availability, security, and performance. Customers of all sizes and industries can store and protect any amount of data for virtually any use case, including data lakes, native applications, and mobile apps.

Redis is an in-memory database with a simple key-value data structure and belongs to the family of NoSQL databases. redis is open source and, according to a survey by, the most common key-value store.

Apache Kafka is a free software of the Apache Software Foundation, which is used in particular for processing data streams. Kafka is designed to store and process data streams and provides an interface for loading and exporting data streams to third-party systems.

Cassandra is a simple distributed database management system for very large structured data. It is designed for high scalability and resilience for large, distributed systems. The data is stored in key-value relations. It is openly documented and implemented in Java.

RabbitMQ is an open source message broker software that implements the Advanced Message Queuing Protocol. The RabbitMQ server is written in Erlang.

Build & Deployment

GitLab is a web application for version management for software projects based on Git, and other software development functions were added later.

Gradle is a Java-based build management automation tool, comparable to Apache Ant and Apache Maven. Gradle uses a domain-specific language based on Groovy to describe the projects to be built. Unlike Maven project definitions, Gradle scripts are directly executable code.

Bazel is a free software tool for automating creation and testing software. The Google company uses the Blaze build tool internally and released an open source port of the Blaze tool as Bazel, named as an anagram of Blaze.

npm / yarn

npm is a package manager for the JavaScript runtime environment Node.js. npm was programmed in 2010 by Isaac Schlueter as an employee of the Californian cloud platform provider Joyent.

Yarn is a software packaging system developed by Facebook in 2016 for the Node.js JavaScript runtime.

Cloud computing is basically the provision of computing resources (e.g., servers, storage, databases, network components, software, analytics, and intelligent functions) over the Internet, i.e., the cloud, to provide faster innovation, flexible resources, and economies of scale.

Microservice Architecture

Kubernetes is an open source system developed by Google for managing container applications. In this environment, the management of the technical container infrastructure is also called orchestration.

Docker is Free Software for isolating applications using container virtualization. Docker simplifies application deployment because containers containing all the necessary packages can be easily transported and installed as files.

Node.js is a cross-platform, open-source JavaScript runtime that can execute JavaScript code outside of a web browser. This can be used to operate a web server, for example.

Java, Micronaut

Micronaut is a JVM-based framework for developing lightweight, modular applications. Micronaut was developed by OCI, the company that also developed Grails, and is the latest framework for creating microservices quickly and easily.

Go is a compilable programming language that supports concurrency and automatic garbage collection. Go was developed by employees of Google Inc. The designs are by Robert Griesemer, Rob Pike and Ken Thompson.

Logging / Monitoring

Opensearch (Kibana, ElasticSearch)

OpenSearch is an XML-based collection of techniques that allows search results from search engines and websites to be output in a standardized and machine-readable format.

Grafana + Prometheus

Grafana is a cross-platform, open-source application for graphically displaying data from various data sources such as InfluxDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Prometheus and Graphite.
